Thank you for your interest in the Land Rover. According to the archives of the Royal Logistics Corps, this Series 2a spent most of its life serving with the Ayrshire Yeomanry in the 1960s. It was then sold out of military service in the 1970s.

In the early 1980s the Land Rover was purchased by Mr Nolan from Lancashire. He and his brother carried out various repairs over the years, including the fitment of a galvanised chassis in the early 2000s. He used to call the Land Rover “the heap”!

I purchased the vehicle in the autumn of 2024. Whilst many panels and ancillary parts have changed over the years, I wouldn’t like to repaint the vehicle or make any significant modifications. I feel this would only detract from the unique look and character of the Landy. Long live the heap !
