To help administer and run the Club, the UK is split into several regional “areas”, loosely based on postcodes. Each area has an Area Representative who looks after members in their area. Area Reps are informed of all new members, and those who have left, joining the Club. They help organise local meetings and events, and some areas have several venues spread around the area so that there is a meeting fairly close to as many members as possible.

This is the theory, but in practice some areas are huge, such as Scotland or Wales, with members spread over a large area. Distances are great and poor road connections can make meeting up with fellow members difficult. We also have overseas “areas” – Italy, Netherlands, DACH (Germany, Austria & Switzerland), Rest of Europe, Australia, New Zealand, North America (USA and Canada) and the Rest of the World. We have Reps looking after these areas too, although naturally meetings and attending events can be even more problematic. Overseas Area Reps act more as local contacts and are the link back to the Club here in the UK.

The Series 2 Club also uses email lists to help members keep in touch, organise events and communicate with other Club members. There are lists for each region, as well as radius lists for smaller local gatherings and events. Radius lists bring together Club members within a chosen distance of a particular location, making them ideal for anything from a one-off Saturday morning coffee at a garden centre to regular local meetups.

If there is no meeting near to you, any Club member can request a new radius list – you don’t need to be an Area Rep. Simply find a suitable venue or location and request a radius list covering the surrounding area. The Club can then help connect you with other local members and provide a way for you to organise a new “satellite” meeting.

Meetings are an important part of Club life. They bring local members together where you can discuss local shows and events, plan green-laning or road trips, and help each other with repairs and spares. Meetings don’t have to be in pubs – we have had meetings at coffee shops and garden centres too.

Joining a mailing list is a great way to hear about local events, meet other Series 2 Club members in your area and help organise your own gatherings. Membership of the Series 2 Club is required to join these mailing lists. Please note: There is nothing stopping you from attending meetings and events in other areas – in fact, we would encourage it. Members are free to attend any event they wish (subject to any limit on numbers, which is rare), and you don’t have to turn up in a Land Rover.
